Constructional Description of Shaft Mounted Gearboxes
The Shaft Mounted gearbox is anchored by the torque and this enables a
quick, easy method of adjustment of V-belts by a turnbuckle. Usually, these
gearboxes are constructed in 10 different sizes and in three different
ratios. The prevailing ratio's are: 5:1, !3:1 and 20:1. If pulley is used
with shift mounted gearboxes, then a large range of speed ratio's may obtain
for these gearboxes. To ensure a long life of the gearings of such gearbox,
the hunting tooth method should be followed. The oil seals of these
gearboxes are double-sealed and that prevents the outside dirts to enter
inside. The existing gears within the gearbox are prepared by carburetter
alloy steel. From the inside portion of such gearbox, a soft core is
installed to prevent any external shocks. Without changing the size of Shaft
Mounted Gear box, it can be made more powerful only by changing the tooth
design.
